The practice opens
Ratneshwar Prasad Thakur begins practising from C.R. Avenue with limited resources and no shortcuts — relying on hard work, professional ethics and a long view rather than quick growth. Every client relationship is built on trust; every difficulty is treated as something to learn from.
Taxation and compliance take shape
Income tax and statutory compliance form the core of the practice. Exim work is added as Kolkata’s trading and export businesses seek help with documentation and regulatory approvals.
A firm, not a practitioner
Company Secretaries, tax consultants and legal advisers join, so that structure, secretarial and tax questions on the same file are answered by people qualified in each. Financial analysis and bank finance work follow, driven by what existing clients needed.
GST, from the first day
The firm handles the transition from service tax and VAT for its entire client base — registrations, migrations, the first returns and the reconciliations nobody had done before. GST practice has run continuously since inception.
